چکیده

The design of a complete expansion that allows for compact representation of certain relevant classes of signals is a central problem in signal processing applications. Achieving such a representation means knowing the signal features for the purpose of denoising, classification, interpolation and forecasting. Multilayer Neural Networks are relatively a new class of techniques that are mathematically proven to approximate any continuous function arbitrarily well. Radial Basis Function Networks, which make use of Gaussian activation function, are also shown to be a universal approximator. In this age of ever-increasing digitization in the storage, processing, analysis and communication of information, there are numerous examples of applications where one needs to construct a continuously defined function or numerical algorithm to approximate, represent and reconstruct the given discrete data of a signal. Many a times one wishes to manipulate the data in a way that requires information not included explicitly in the data, which is done through interpolation and/or extrapolation. Tidal data are a very perfect example of time series and many statistical techniques have been applied for tidal data analysis and representation. ANN is recent addition to such techniques. In the present paper we describe the time series representation capabilities of a special type of ANNRadial Basis Function networks and present the results of tidal data representation using RBF. Tidal data analysis & representation is one of the important requirements in marine science for forecasting. Keywords—ANN, RBF, Tidal Data.

Increasing accuracy of TPXO global tidal model using TELEMA numerical model in Bushehr Bay

Abstract Several methods have been developed such as experimental methods, numerical and computational models for studying the prediction of water level. The purpose of this research is to evaluate and verification Telemac's numerical tidal model in Bushehr Bay waters using measured data. In this regard, the Telemac 2D module has been used to simulate the tide in a A course, 15 days from 01/08...

Least Squares Analysis of Noise-Free Tides Using Energy Conservation and Relative Concentration of Periods Criteria

In this article, a new approach to tidal harmonic analysis is introduced. This approach incorporates more constituents in the least squares method for a fixed duration of noise-free tidal record and results in a more accurate tidal prediction. Moreover, it is demonstrated that 135 days of hourly data, which is significantly less than 369 days data in the Rayleigh criterion, is sufficient for th...

Tidal prediction using time series analysis of Buoy observations

Although tidal observations which are extracted from coastal tide gages, have higher accuracy due to their higher sampling rate, installing these types of gages can impose some spatial limitation since we cannot use every part of sea to install them. To solve this limitation, we can employ satellite altimetry observations. However, satellite altimetry observations have lower sampling rate. Acco...

Upscaling Permeability Measurements Within Complex Heterolithic Tidal Sandstones1

We investigate numerically the effect of sample volume on the effective single-phase permeability of heterolithic tidal sandstones, using three-dimensional models reconstructed directly from large rock specimens measuring ∼45× 30× 15 cm. We find that both individual and averaged effective permeability values vary as a function of sample volume, which indicates that permeability data obtained fr...

Standardization and Validation of Non-invasive Monitoring of End Tidal Carbon Dioxide in Neonates via Nasal Cannula: An Observational Study

Background: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a by-product of cellular metabolism, which could be considered as a reflection of metabolism, circulation, and ventilation. Arterial blood gas analysis (ABG) is the gold standard of monitoring for CO2. However, is an expensive method leading to blood loss and iatrogenic anemia. In addition, each sample is only a...
